Something Borrowed

I read Something Borrowed and Something Blue, both by Emily Giffin, back in 2005 and absolutely adored the two novels.  You can only imagine my delight when I heard Something Borrowed was going to debut on the big screen.  I have been so excited to see this chick flick!  I know I've mentioned this before, but I love when my favorite books become movies because it gives me the oppertunity to enjoy the story and characters again.

Last Friday, Chelsea, Sheena and I had a total girls night and went to see Something Borrowed.  It was so nice to get to hang out with the girls, munch on some popcorn and peanut m&m's and enjoy a great movie.  I had the movie built up in my head and I must say, it did not disappoint.  I loved it!  From what I can remember (it has been six years since I read the book), the movie stuck pretty close to the storyline of the book, which is crucial for me.  (I hate strongly dislike when they take a lovely story, rip it apart, change all the storylines and make it into a movie.)

The movie was great and I highly recommend you go see it, especially if you love a good chick flick like I do.  :)  Ginnifer Goodwin and Kate Hudson are absolutely adorable...not to mention, Colin Egglesfield and John Krasinski are total cuties.

Mrs. D gives Something Borrowed two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

  2. So glad you posted that it is pretty much the same! We are going to see it for girls night on Friday and I just reread the book this week. I did notice that Ethan is in the movie (even though he is in England in the book) and I hope thats about it as far as changes. I can't wait to see it!

  5. Ahh, a positive review! Yay! I can't wait to see it. I read a negative review on People or something and it was disappointing but I knew I wouldn't let that sway me! :)
