The UNwich

If you're anything like me, you often find yourself being forced to grab a quick bite on the run.
While I love all the yummy, FULL-fat/carbohydrate/calorie options out there, I'm always trying to find something that's not going to destroy my diet and make all my clothes too tight.
My current go-to for a fast, cheap, kinda healthy lunch is the Jimmy John's Unwich.

My favorite Unwich is definitely the Turkey Tom.  Hold the tomato, add cucumber (and sometimes cheese).
While the Unwich is not as delicious or savory as many other options I can think of, it's a pretty good meal for those days when you find yourself in a hurry and hungry...but not wanting to break the calorie bank.

And there you have it.  One of my lunch time secrets.  After all, I can't eat cake all the time.  Or can I?

Enabler! Enabler!

Perhaps you are already aware of my love for all things Kate Spade?  Well, my girl must have heard it was my Birthday yesterday because she opened up her glorious Sample Sale for all of us.

Such an enabler, that Kate is!

Everything on the Kate Spade Sample Sale is at least 75% off her retail price.  SCORE!  (Although keep in mind all sales are final.)  So...head on over to http://www.katespade.com/ and enter the SAMPLE SALE to buy yourself some pretties!

Here are just a few of my favorites:
Intarsia Bow Cardigan.

Metropolitan Earrings.

Striped Bow Jacket.
(which has an adorable bow in the back!)

If only my funds were of the unlimited sort, I would tear this sale up.  Haha.  :)  I did make a big splurge and score the bow cardigan shown above.  I've had it on my radar for several months and it is a piece I can transition throughout my wardrobe regardless of the season.

I hope you all take advantage of this awesome sale and score some Kate Spade goodies for yourself.  Keep in mind, the sample sale is over tomorrow, May 19, at midnight.  Happy shopping, my loves!

Let Them Eat Cake!

Today is my Birthday.  Let us ALL eat some cake!  (Y'all know it's my favorite!)

It's also my Dad's Birthday.  It's a fun day for the two of us to share...and it means even more cake!  :)

Getting older isn't much fun....but all the yummy cake definitely makes it a little easier.  So this post is pretty much just an Ode To Cake.  I love all kinds of cake, but my two most favorite are German Chocolate Cake and Red Velvet Cake.  OH!  And Funfetti Cake!  Yes, it's perfectly normal to be obsessed with cake and have three different favorites.

I'm very picky about my cake.  Yes, I am a cake snob.  I admit it.  I love cake so much!  When I decide to sacrifice those calories and eat an entire cake with a fork eat a slice or two, it better be delicious.  I like fresh, yummy, moist cake with fresh icing...but not too much icing.  I like to be able to taste the cake.  And it better not be frozen.  No yucky frozen and thawed cake for me.  See?  I'm a cake snob.  I tried to warn you.

So, in honor of my favorite holiday (yes, I realize I sound like a child because my Birthday IS a holiday and if you don't believe me then please refer back to this post), let's all go home and HAVE SOME CAKE.  :)

Will you be celebrating with me?  What kind of cake will you be having?  :)

Happy Eating!

Rainy Weekend's Were Made For Cuddling.

Glad the Blogger site is finally up and working again.  I missed y'all last week!

It was a rainy weekend and I can tell you I definitely took advantage of the rain and was a lazy girl.  It was nice to get a little R&R and spend quality time cuddling with McGruff.  :)

McGruffy and I also caught up with our favorite Upper East Side residents, Blair, Serena, Chuck, Dan and Nate.  That darn Jenny is so annoying, isn't she?  And Vanessa isn't much better.  When are Chuck and Blair going to get back together?  I'm so ready.  I love those two.

Was you weekend as relaxing as mine?  I do hope so!

Something Borrowed

I read Something Borrowed and Something Blue, both by Emily Giffin, back in 2005 and absolutely adored the two novels.  You can only imagine my delight when I heard Something Borrowed was going to debut on the big screen.  I have been so excited to see this chick flick!  I know I've mentioned this before, but I love when my favorite books become movies because it gives me the oppertunity to enjoy the story and characters again.

Last Friday, Chelsea, Sheena and I had a total girls night and went to see Something Borrowed.  It was so nice to get to hang out with the girls, munch on some popcorn and peanut m&m's and enjoy a great movie.  I had the movie built up in my head and I must say, it did not disappoint.  I loved it!  From what I can remember (it has been six years since I read the book), the movie stuck pretty close to the storyline of the book, which is crucial for me.  (I hate strongly dislike when they take a lovely story, rip it apart, change all the storylines and make it into a movie.)

The movie was great and I highly recommend you go see it, especially if you love a good chick flick like I do.  :)  Ginnifer Goodwin and Kate Hudson are absolutely adorable...not to mention, Colin Egglesfield and John Krasinski are total cuties.

Mrs. D gives Something Borrowed two very enthusiastic thumbs up!
